Weathering

I want you to weather with me
I want to see you morph
Watch you grow
Help you ripen
I want to see you smile
Every day
And watch the corners of your mouth
Crinkle and overlap
Loosen and wrinkle
And watch your smile retain it’s light
All throught the years

I want to watch you work
And cook with me when you come home
And watch your hands grip
Working elequently
And watch it mature
Age like a wine
One day, it’ll be so weathered
And I will watch it retain it’s strength
Holding mine throught the years

I want to watch your eyes through time
And see their glasses get thicker
I’ll watch you fumble for your glasses
And squint at fine print
And ask me to thread your needle
Still I’ll see them retain their light
And watch them get mature
With time you’ll weaken your sight
But their youth with endure

And I’ll watch you weather
By my side
Notice you staying young
As your body gets old

Moon-bathe

I don’t know if I ever told you
I don’t think there’s a need to either
But late at night
When you’re asleep
And I am wide awake beside you
Basking in the glory,
Bathing in the cadence of my sun
Gently stroking your hair
And leaning in
I often whisper it to you

I tell you how much I miss you
And can’t wait for you to wake up
I tell you how the day couldn’t come sooner
And how I’m being patient
Waiting for you to wake up
So that I could drown in your lovely eyes
And hear my birdie swing
And watch her stretch
Before she goes out to fly

I know you probably don’t remember
But when I tell you this
Even in your sleep
Your lips curl in a smile
And I can moonbathe for a while

Unbeknownst

Unbeknownst to me,

She was the tale I carried between my heart

Trapped between my lips

And at the tip of my tongue.

Unbeknownst to her,

I was the eccentric silent speaker

Who spoke with his mouth shut

And read the words unsaid.

Steps On A Ladder

When I was five,

I felt I will be robbed off my life

If I stood at the roots of a gigantic structure.

Be it a tree or architecture.

Now I am older.

Climbing the rungs of a ladder.

Hoping that one day it will be a staircase grand.

I have a secret knowledge in my hand.

The child me wasn’t afraid of being at the top

but of beginning the journey with the approving nod.

Now that I am higher in the air

my fear has seemed to disappear.

Secrets

She was a book.

Layered herself like one.

Pages within, encrypted with undecipherable script.

Some pages torn. Some chapters lost.

Secrets embedded within.

Messages out of view/Meanings within the lines.

She was exactly like a book.

Waiting to be read.

Waiting to be understood.

Waiting with her secrets.

Waiting for a confidant.

Into The Dark

The path,
So dark
My heart.
Ablaze inside a cave,
A flame.
The illumination,
It seeks.
An image in cave,
A lithograph made of Shadow.
A meadow,
Open and wide.
Wildlife wild,
A hunter hunting senseless.
Timeless,
I waste the clock again.
The trick,
To surviving,
When you are lost.
I still seek.
